Chapter 6 - THE MAN WHO KNEW THE TRUTHEthan stared at Marcus.

“Who killed my father?”
Marcus said nothing.
Then Lily appeared behind Ethan.
Marcus looked at her.
His face changed.
For the first time, Ethan saw fear.
“That's impossible.”
Ethan stepped in front of Lily.
“What?”
Marcus whispered:
“She wasn't supposed to survive.”
Ethan's blood ran cold.
“What are you talking about?”
Marcus backed away.
“The crash. Five years ago. Hannah wasn't supposed to be alive either.”
Ethan grabbed his collar.
“You're going to tell me everything.”
Marcus laughed.
“You still don't understand.”
“What?”
“The Parker family wasn't the target.”
Ethan froze.
“Then who was?”
Marcus looked at Lily.
“Your daughter.”
The room went silent.
Marcus explained.
Hannah had discovered that Lily's birth certificate contained a hidden inheritance clause.
Ethan's father had secretly created a trust for his future grandchild.
The trust was worth nearly $900 million.
Marcus wanted control of it.
But he couldn't access it while Hannah was alive.
So he tried to destroy her.
Ethan's mother's intervention had prevented the worst.
But Marcus had spent years waiting.
Now Hannah was in the hospital.
And Lily was the legal heir.
Marcus pulled out his phone.
“You have twelve hours.”
“For what?”
“Sign control of the Parker trust to me.”
“And if I refuse?”
Marcus looked toward the hospital.
“Then accidents happen.”
Ethan's face hardened.
“You've made one mistake.”
“What?”
“You told me the truth.”
Marcus smiled.
“I didn't.”
He turned.
“I told you enough to make you afraid.”
Then he disappeared.
Ethan immediately called the police.
But before he could explain, his phone rang.
May you like

“Hannah is awake.”
