Chapter 7 - THE FINAL GAMBITJulián made a sudden move to lunge toward Silva, but the three syndicate guards slammed the butt of their rifles into his stomach, dropping him to his knees on the wooden floorboards.

“Stay down, boy,” one guard growled, pressing a heavy boot against Julián’s neck.
Inés knelt beside her dying father, her hands stained with his blood. She looked up at Senator Silva, her dark eyes completely devoid of fear. Instead, a chilling, triumphant smile crept across her lips.
“You really thought my father was the mastermind, didn't you, Senator?” Inés whispered, her voice carrying clearly over the howling wind.
Silva frowned slightly, lowering his pistol a fraction of an inch. “What are you talking about?”
Inés slowly reached into her trench coat and pulled out not a paper folder, but a small satellite transmitter device with a blinking green light.
“My father wasn't the head of the syndicate, Silva. He was just the accountant,” Inés said, standing up slowly, brushing the dust from her coat. “And you... you just murdered a man on an open balcony while a live, encrypted audio-visual feed was being broadcasted directly to the Federal Attorney General's office, the national press corps, and every major news station in Mexico.”
Silva’s face drained of all color. He spun around, staring at Julián’s phone lying on the bedroom table—the screen was lit up, streaming the live high-definition feed to over fifty federal servers simultaneously.
“No...” Silva breathed, raising his weapon with a trembling hand, aiming directly at Inés's heart. “You little demon—”
Before Silva could pull the trigger, the entire front courtyard of the Atlixco estate erupted into blinding light.
Dozens of federal police cruisers and tactical vehicles swarmed the driveway, their sirens wailing, tactical spotlights painting the upper balconies in harsh white glare. Through a megaphone, Commander Vega's voice boomed across the estate:
“Senator Roberto Silva! Drop your weapon! The building is completely surrounded. You have nowhere to run!”
Panic seized the three syndicate guards inside the bedroom. Dropping their weapons, they threw their hands up against the wall as federal agents poured through the double doors, subduing them in seconds.
Silva turned desperately toward the balcony railing, looking down at the barricade of police cars blocking every possible escape route. He was cornered. Finished.
“You won't take me alive,” Silva snarled, turning his pistol toward Inés with a desperate, murderous roar.
Inés didn't flinch. She stepped forward, staring him down with pure, unyielding defiance.
Before Silva could fire, Julián surged upward from the floor, tackling the senator hard around the knees. Silva lost his balance, stumbling backward against the low iron railing of the balcony.
The rusted metal gave way with a shriek of bending iron.

Silva grabbed at empty air, screaming as he plummeted backward into the darkness—falling down, down, down, landing hard amid the overgrown brush of the courtyard below.
Silence descended upon the estate, broken only by the steady, heavy patter of the rain.
