CHAPTER 1 – THE FLOWERS THAT STOPPED TWO HUNDRED ENGINES

The motorcycles arrived like an earthquake.
Chrome flashed beneath the morning sun.
Hundreds of roaring engines rolled into the quiet suburban street, shaking windows, rattling coffee cups, and sending neighbors peeking through their curtains.
People stopped talking.
Children hurried back inside.
Because everyone knew who had arrived.
Tank.
The giant biker leader.
Six-foot-six.
Broad shoulders covered in faded leather.
Scarred hands.
A beard streaked with gray.
A face so intimidating that strangers crossed the street rather than walk past him.
Rumor said he'd survived prison.
Rumor said he'd once fought six men by himself.
Rumor said he had never smiled.
Not once.
Even the newest bikers stood a little straighter whenever Tank stepped off his motorcycle.
The street fell silent.
Until...
A tiny pink wheelchair rolled slowly down a driveway.
"Emma!"
Her mother dropped the grocery bags.
"What are you doing?"
The five-year-old girl simply giggled.
She wore a bright yellow dress.
Her shoes didn't even match.
In her tiny hands she held a crooked bouquet of wildflowers she'd picked herself that morning.
She ignored every adult yelling after her.
Ignored every roaring motorcycle.
Ignored the terrifying men covered in tattoos.
She rolled directly toward Tank.
One biker whispered,
"Boss..."
Another muttered,
"Should we stop her?"
Tank raised one hand.
"No."
The engines slowly died.
One after another.
The entire street became strangely quiet.
Emma stopped directly in front of the enormous man.
She looked up without the slightest hint of fear.
"I need the big one."
Several bikers exchanged confused looks.
Tank lowered his sunglasses.
"For me?"
Emma stretched both little arms upward.
"These are for you."
Tank froze.
No one...
No one had ever handed him flowers before.
Not in fifty-three years.
His rough hands hesitated before accepting the tiny bouquet.
"Why?"
Emma tilted her head.
"You look sad."
The words hit him harder than any punch ever had.
Tank slowly lowered himself onto one knee until they were eye level.
"What makes you think that?"
She smiled.
One missing front tooth.
"My daddy says people who look scary are usually the saddest."
Silence.
Complete silence.
Tank's lips trembled.
His eyes filled.
Then, with shaking fingers, he reached inside his leather vest.
He pulled out an old photograph.
The corners were worn nearly white.
The picture showed a little girl...
Blonde hair.
Bright eyes.
Yellow dress.
She looked almost identical to Emma.
Tank whispered,
"My Lily..."
Every biker nearby lowered his head.
Because every one of them knew that name.
Fifteen years ago...
Tank's daughter had disappeared.
Without a trace.
The police eventually closed the case.
Everyone else gave up.
Tank never did.
Then Emma gently touched the faded photograph.
"She's not gone."
Tank looked up.
"What?"
Emma pointed toward the little girl's bracelet in the photo.
"My grandma made bracelets like that."
Tank's heart nearly stopped.
His daughter had been wearing a handmade bracelet...
One that only his late wife knew how to weave.
Before anyone could ask another question—
Emma quietly added,
"I've seen one exactly like it."
Everything changed.
Tank shot to his feet.
He grabbed his radio.
His voice cracked with emotion.
"Everybody ride."
The bikers instantly started their engines.
"Now."
Within seconds...
Two hundred motorcycles exploded to life like thunder.
But they weren't riding toward a fight.
They were following one tiny girl.

And none of them knew...
she was about to uncover a secret buried for fifteen years.
