CHAPTER 1 – "The Wedding No One Was Ready For"

The ballroom looked like something out of a fairy tale.
Crystal chandeliers shimmered overhead. White roses lined the aisle. Hundreds of guests stood smiling as Ethan Carter, one of New York's youngest self-made millionaires, waited at the altar for the woman he was finally about to marry.
After losing his first love five years earlier, Ethan had sworn he would never open his heart again.
Until he met Sophia.
She was beautiful, gentle, and somehow convinced him that life deserved a second chance.
Today was supposed to be the happiest day of his life.
Instead...
It became the day that destroyed everything he believed.
As the music faded, Ethan lifted the microphone.
His hands trembled.
"I never thought I'd stand here again," he said, fighting back tears.
The room fell completely silent.
"I spent years blaming myself for losing the woman I loved... and every birthday since then felt like another reminder that I failed her."
Several guests quietly wiped away tears.
Even Sophia reached for his hand, believing this emotional speech was simply Ethan saying goodbye to his painful past.
But Ethan's voice cracked harder than anyone expected.
"There has never been a single day... that I stopped wondering what really happened."
Nobody understood what he meant.
Not yet.
Just as the officiant prepared to continue the ceremony...
A tiny voice echoed from the back of the ballroom.
"Wait!"
Every head turned.
A little boy—no older than six—stood alone in the center aisle.
He wore an oversized green hoodie and held something tightly against his chest.
No one recognized him.
Security hesitated.
The guests whispered nervously.
Sophia frowned.
"Whose child is that?"
The boy ignored everyone.
His eyes never left Ethan.
Slowly...
He walked down the aisle.
One tiny step after another.
The sound of his sneakers against the marble floor echoed through the silent ballroom.
When he finally reached the altar...
He looked up at Ethan with frightened eyes.
Then he whispered words that made the groom turn completely pale.
"I finally found you..."
The microphone slipped from Ethan's hand.
The entire ballroom gasped.
Sophia forced a nervous smile.
"This has to be some mistake."
But the little boy slowly pulled a faded photograph from his pocket.
It was old.
Creased.
Nearly falling apart.
He handed it to Ethan.
The moment Ethan looked at it...
His knees nearly gave out.
The photo showed a younger version of Ethan...
Standing beside the woman everyone believed had died five years ago.
And in her arms...
Was a newborn baby.
The same baby who now stood in front of him.
Ethan stared at the child in disbelief.
His lips trembled.
"This... this isn't possible."
The little boy looked directly into his eyes.
"My mommy told me..."
"...you would know who I am."
The ballroom exploded into whispers.
Sophia's smile disappeared.
Her face slowly turned white.
Because she suddenly realized...
This wasn't a random child.
This little boy carried the one secret Ethan had buried with his past.
And whatever happened next...
Would either create a family...
May you like
Or destroy a wedding forever.
