CHAPTER 2 — "The Woman He Humiliated Owned Everything."

The room fell completely silent.

Ryan forced a smile.

"Chairman Harris! I wasn't expecting—"

The old man raised one hand.

"Don't speak."

His eyes never left Emily.

"Miss Carter..."

Emily quickly stood up, wiping away her tears.

"I'm sorry... I didn't realize this was an inspection."

Chairman Harris shook his head.

"No."

"I came because someone told me one of our future partners was being humiliated inside my company."

Ryan frowned.

"Our... future partner?"

The elegant woman beside the Chairman stepped forward.

"My name is Victoria Sterling."

Ryan instantly recognized the name.

Sterling Capital.

One of the largest investment firms in America.

The company Walker Holdings had been desperately trying to impress for over a year.

Ryan smiled confidently.

"Miss Sterling, welcome! I would be honored to—"

Victoria ignored him completely.

Instead...

She walked straight to Emily.

Then hugged her.

Ryan's face turned white.

Emily whispered,

"Victoria... why are you here?"

Victoria smiled through tears.

"Because you saved my life."

Everyone stared.

Five years earlier, before Victoria became a billionaire investor, she had collapsed during a charity marathon after a serious accident.

Hundreds of people walked past.

Only one stranger stopped.

Emily.

She stayed beside Victoria for eight hours in the emergency room, donated blood, and disappeared without ever asking for a reward.

Victoria had spent years searching for the woman who saved her.

She finally found her.

"And today," Victoria said calmly, "I was planning to offer Emily the position of CEO for our newest billion-dollar project."

Ryan's knees nearly gave out.

Chairman Harris slowly turned toward him.

"You forced the woman who was about to invest over two billion dollars into this company... to kneel."

Nobody breathed.

Ryan tried to explain.

"It... it was just a misunderstanding."

Victoria looked at the security team.

"No."

"It was character."

She turned to Chairman Harris.

"My company will immediately cancel every contract with Walker Holdings."

Gasps filled the room.

"And one more thing."

She looked directly into Ryan's terrified eyes.

"Upload that video."

Ryan blinked.

"W-What?"

"I want the world to see exactly how a man destroys his own future."

Within hours...

The video Ryan intended to use to humiliate Emily became the evidence that destroyed his career.

Walker Holdings' stock collapsed.

The board removed Ryan before sunrise.

His friends disappeared.

His investors vanished.

His fiancée left him after learning the truth.

Meanwhile...

Emily walked into Sterling Capital's headquarters as its newest CEO.

As reporters surrounded her, someone asked the question everyone wanted answered.

"Do you want revenge?"

Emily smiled quietly.

May you like

"No."

"The greatest revenge is watching someone lose everything because of the choices they made themselves."
