CHAPTER 2: The Bride Who Planned Her Own Revenge

The LED screen lit up behind Ryan.

At first, the guests saw only a black screen.

Then the first message appeared.

“After she signs the trust, everything becomes mine.”

A gasp rolled through the ballroom.

Ryan spun around, his face still covered in cake.

“Turn it off!” he shouted.

But the screen kept going.

Emails. Voice recordings. Bank transfers. Photos of Ryan with another woman in the same hotel where he had told Emily he was “working late.”

Then came the worst one.

A video.

Ryan sat with his best man, laughing over champagne.

“She’s so desperate to be loved,” Ryan said in the recording. “She’ll sign anything after the wedding.”

The entire room went silent.

Emily’s mother covered her mouth.

Ryan’s father stood up, furious.

But Emily only stood there calmly, still wearing her wedding dress like armor.

Ryan rushed toward her.

“You set me up?”

Emily smiled coldly.

“No, Ryan. You exposed yourself. I just gave everyone a seat.”

Then two men in dark suits entered the ballroom.

Federal investigators.

Ryan froze.

His best man tried to leave, but the doors were already blocked.

Emily lifted the microphone.

“I came here today to marry a man,” she said, her voice shaking for the first time. “Instead, I buried a lie.”

Ryan fell to his knees.

“Emily, please. I loved you.”

She looked down at him.

“No. You loved the number in my bank account.”

The investigators placed handcuffs on Ryan in front of every guest.

But just as Emily turned to leave, her wedding planner suddenly screamed.

Everyone looked toward the cake table.

Hidden beneath the flowers was a second envelope.

Emily opened it.

Inside was a note written in Ryan’s handwriting.

“If she finds out before midnight, Plan B begins.”

Emily’s smile disappeared.

Because outside the ballroom…

her car alarm suddenly started screaming.
