CHAPTER 3 — THE MAN IN THE BLACK SUV

The black SUV roared toward Ethan’s mother.

Ethan screamed.

“Mom!”

But just before impact, another car slammed into the SUV from the side.

Glass exploded across the street.

The driver crawled out bleeding.

And when police pulled him into the light...

Ethan stopped breathing.

It was his “father.”

The man shouted like a monster.

“She was never supposed to come back!”

Then Ethan’s mother revealed the final truth.

Years ago, she had married Ethan’s real father—a kind man named Michael, heir to a powerful family business.

But Ethan’s fake father had been Michael’s best friend.

He wanted the company.

He wanted the money.

And when Michael died in a “car accident,” he stole everything—including Ethan.

The DNA test proved it.

Ethan wasn’t the son of a cruel man.

He was the rightful heir to a fortune worth millions.

Three months later, the courtroom was packed.

His fake father stood in chains, still trying to smile.

“You’ll never prove I killed him,” he whispered.

Then the courtroom doors opened.

An old woman walked in with a folder in her hand.

Michael’s mother.

Ethan’s real grandmother.

She looked at the judge and said:

“I was silent for sixteen years because I was afraid.”

Then she placed a recording on the table.

Michael’s final phone call.

On it, his voice trembled:

“If anything happens to me... he did it.”

The fake father’s smile disappeared.

Ethan held his mother’s hand as the verdict was read.

Guilty.

But the real twist came after court.

Ethan’s grandmother handed him a key.

“This belongs to you now.”

It opened Michael’s old house.

Inside, Ethan found a nursery untouched for sixteen years.

And on the wall was a note from his real father:

“One day, my son will come home.”

For the first time in his life...
