Chapter 6 - THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL AND THE NEW DAWN

Headline: The Final Showdown at the Cliffs—The Twist That Left My Empire in Ashes

The cold wind from the Atlantic Ocean whipped against Dominic’s face as they emerged from the secret tunnel onto the rocky shore.

The moon was high, casting a silver glow over the dark, churning water. Elena held the triplets close, her eyes scanning the horizon.

Suddenly, floodlights erupted from the cliffs above, blinding them.

"Did you really think I wouldn't search the beach, Dominic?" Silvio’s voice boomed from a megaphone.

From the shadows of the rocks, a dozen armed men stepped out, their rifles aimed directly at Dominic, Elena, and the triplets. Silvio Moretti walked forward, a smug, triumphant smile on his face.

But he wasn't alone.

Walking beside him was a woman Dominic recognized instantly—a woman he thought had been dead for fourteen months.

"Isabella?" Dominic whispered, his heart stopping.

The woman smiled, but there was no warmth in her eyes. "Hello, Dominic. You look like you've seen a ghost."

Dominic’s mind fractured. "You're alive... How...?"

"I had to disappear, Dominic," Isabella said, her voice dripping with venom. "Your life, your mafia wars, your endless obsession with power... I couldn't take it anymore. So I made a deal with Silvio. He helped me fake my death. The only mistake was leaving the girls behind. But now, I've come to take what's mine."

"You... you left them?" Dominic’s voice shook with an anger so intense it felt like fire in his veins. "They stopped speaking for fourteen months because they thought you were murdered! They lived in a silent hell because of your selfish lie!"

"They'll get over it," Isabella said coldly, gesturing to the guards. "Grab the girls. Kill Dominic and the housekeeper."

"No!" Lucia, Valentina, and Mia screamed in unison, their voices echoing over the sound of the crashing waves. They broke away from Elena and ran, but not toward their mother.

They ran to Dominic, throwing their arms around his legs.

"Daddy! Don't let them take us!" Mia sobbed.

"We stay with Daddy!" Valentina screamed.

Isabella’s face twisted in rage. "You ungrateful little brats! I am your mother!"

"You were never their mother," Elena said, stepping forward, her gun raised. "A mother doesn't abandon her children to a life of trauma just to save herself. You're a monster, Isabella."

"Kill them!" Isabella shrieked.

But before the guards could pull their triggers, a massive explosion rocked the cliffs.

Dominic had secretly rigged the mansion’s main fuel tanks to blow using the burner phone’s remote detonator. The massive blast sent a shockwave down the beach, distracting the guards for a split second.

It was all the time Dominic and Elena needed.

Dominic drew his weapon, firing with lethal accuracy, taking down three guards before they could aim. Elena moved like a shadow, slipping behind the rocks and taking out two more.

Silvio panicked, drawing his gun to shoot Dominic, but Elena was faster. She fired a single round, hitting Silvio directly in the chest. He collapsed into the wet sand, his blood mixing with the ocean water.

Isabella screamed, grabbing a dropped rifle, aiming it directly at the triplets.

"No!" Dominic lunged forward, shielding his daughters with his own body, prepared to take the bullet.

Bang!

The gunshot echoed off the cliffs.

Dominic closed his eyes, waiting for the pain. But it never came. He opened his eyes to see Isabella drop the rifle, her hands clutching a neat, smoking hole in her forehead. She fell backward into the dark ocean, swallowed by the waves.

Elena stood a few feet away, her gun still raised, her hand perfectly steady.

The remaining guards, seeing their bosses dead, dropped their weapons and fled into the night.

The beach went silent, save for the sound of the wind and the waves.

Dominic fell to his knees, his chest heaving. Immediately, the triplets threw themselves into his arms, weeping, their voices filling the night air with beautiful, chaotic noise.

"I've got you," Dominic sobbed, holding them tighter than he ever had before. "I've got you. I'm never leaving again. I promise."

He looked up at Elena, who was standing quietly, watching them with a soft, tearful smile. She began to walk away, giving them their space.

"Elena," Dominic called out.

She paused, looking back.

"Where are you going?" Dominic asked, standing up, his daughters still clutching his hands.

"My job is done, Mr. Russo," Elena said softly. "The girls are safe. They have their voice back. And they have their father."

"We need you," Dominic said, stepping closer to her. "They need you. And... so do I. The Russo empire died tonight. I'm burning what's left of it to the ground. We're going to start over. Somewhere clean. Somewhere safe. But we can't do it without you."

Lucia reached out, grabbing Elena’s hand. "Stay, Mama Elena. Please."

Elena looked at the three little girls, then at Dominic, whose dark eyes were no longer filled with storm clouds, but with a quiet, desperate hope.

May you like

She smiled, her eyes shining with tears.

"Okay," Elena whispered. "Let's go home."
