CHAPTER 2 – THE WOMAN THEY HUMILIATED WAS THEIR REAL BOSS

The room froze.

No one moved.

No one breathed.

The man standing at the entrance wasn't police.

He was followed by eight security officers in identical suits.

Behind them came three attorneys carrying sealed briefcases.

Arthur stepped forward.

His face was pale.

Not from fear.

From embarrassment.

He looked directly at Cassidy.

"I'm sorry we couldn't arrive sooner."

Then—

He bowed.

Not slightly.

Completely.

The Morrison family stared in disbelief.

Arthur turned toward Brendan.

"My name is Arthur Wells, Executive Vice President of Legal Affairs."

He paused.

"And I represent the majority owner of Morrison Global Holdings."

Brendan laughed nervously.

"Great. So?"

Arthur slowly extended a folder.

"The owner is standing beside you."

Silence.

Jessica frowned.

"What kind of joke is this?"

Arthur ignored her.

He handed Cassidy a gold access card.

She touched it against the folder.

The digital lock opened.

Inside were original ownership certificates.

Trust documents.

Corporate resolutions.

Every signature.

Every legal seal.

Every document proving one impossible truth.

Cassidy Harper owned fifty-eight percent of the company.

Brendan's family owned less than twelve.

Diane staggered backward.

"No…"

Arthur continued reading.

"Effective immediately under Protocol Seven..."

"The Morrison family is permanently removed from executive authority."

"Corporate bank accounts are frozen pending investigation."

"Company vehicles, residences, bonuses, and executive privileges are suspended."

"Access cards are disabled."

Phones began vibrating simultaneously.

One after another.

Access Denied.

Corporate Accounts Frozen.

Employment Status: Terminated.

Brendan stared at his screen.

His company email disappeared.

His executive login vanished.

His expense card declined before his eyes.

Jessica looked horrified.

"My penthouse…"

Arthur answered calmly.

"Company property."

"My Mercedes?"

"Company lease."

"My jewelry?"

"If purchased with corporate funds... it will be recovered."

Diane suddenly dropped to her knees.

"Cassidy..."

Her voice trembled.

"We were family."

Cassidy looked at the woman who had just dumped freezing water over her pregnant body.

"No."

"You were people who believed kindness was weakness."

Arthur nodded toward the security team.

"Escort them from the property."

Brendan exploded.

"You can't do this!"

Cassidy finally smiled.

"I already did."

As security escorted them outside into the rain, reporters began arriving.

Someone had leaked everything.

Cameras flashed endlessly.

The Morrison dynasty collapsed before sunset.

But Cassidy wasn't celebrating.

She quietly placed one hand over her stomach.

May you like

Because her daughter deserved something far greater than revenge.

She deserved peace.
