Chapter 4 - THE ESCAPEWe had to get Wren out. Now.

I disconnected the hospital alarms, triggering a lockdown that bought us three minutes. I grabbed Mara, who was shaking violently, and we moved through the service hallways.

We didn't go to the nursery. We went to the morgue transport. It was the only exit they wouldn't be watching. I shoved Wren into a secure medical cooler, wrapped in blankets, and Mara climbed into the delivery van.
