Chapter 5 - THE CHASEThe black sedans were waiting at the hospital gates. I floored the van, smashing through the security barrier.

"They’re behind us!" Mara screamed, looking at the dash-cam screen.

They weren't shooting. They were trying to disable our engine using electromagnetic pulses. I swerved into the oncoming lane, the van rattling as the EMP fried the dashboard electronics. We were driving blind, but I knew these backroads.
