Chapter 6 - The Ultimate Betrayal Revealed

Doña Patricia grabbed the edge of the table, her knuckles white, her breath coming in shallow, ragged gasps. For the first time in her life, the matriarch of the Villaseñor family looked old, fragile, and utterly defeated.
“You... you ruined us over a plate of food?” Patricia hissed, her voice trembling with venomous disbelief. “You destroyed a respectable family name over a petty squabble at a garden party?”
“A squabble?” I turned my gaze fully onto her, letting the full weight of my anger crash down like a tidal wave. “You humiliated my daughters in front of ninety people. You stripped food from an eight-year-old child’s hands and told her she wasn't worthy because she wasn't born a boy. And my husband—the man who swore to protect us—told her to stop making a scene so he could enjoy his pathetic little celebration of ego.”
I stepped right up to Patricia, looking down into her terrified eyes.
“You thought cruelty was a form of discipline, Patricia. You thought wealth and a fake family name made you untouchable. But you built your entire dynasty on quicksand, financed by a son who couldn't balance a checkbook without forging my signature.”
Andrés fell to his knees, his facade completely shattered. He grabbed the hem of my blazer, tears finally spilling over his cheeks.
“Lucía... please,” he sobbed, pathetic and desperate. “We have eleven years together. We have Sofía and Valentina. Please, don't do this. I’ll give you everything. I’ll make my mother apologize! Just... don't take my company, don't take my home!”
I looked down at him with absolute pity—the most devastating emotion you can show someone who once thought they were your master.
“You didn't care about my daughters' tears, Andrés. You only care now that your credit cards are declined and your social standing is burning to the ground.” I gently pulled my jacket from his trembling grip. “The divorce papers are already prepared. My legal team filed them this morning at 9:00 AM sharp. You will receive full custody waivers to sign, or we can let the federal prosecutors review your corporate fraud charges in a maximum-security courtroom. Your choice.”

Rodrigo looked at his brother in utter disgust, realizing that Andrés’s staggering stupidity had dragged the entire family down with him. Without a word, Rodrigo turned around, stepped into the private elevator, and pressed the button down, abandoning them to their fate.
Patricia stood frozen, staring at the glittering Mexico City skyline, realizing that the empire she had spent decades trying to curate had just been dismantled by the very woman she had mocked as a charity case.
