CHAPTER 1 🐶 Our Dog Wouldn't Stop Tearing Apart the Wall Behind Our Baby's Crib... What We Found Inside Changed Our Lives Forever 😱

The first sound wasn't my daughter's cough.

It was Daisy's claws.

Every single night, just after midnight, our golden retriever would rush into the nursery and throw herself against the wall behind my eight-month-old daughter's crib. She didn't bark.

She scratched.

Violently.

Desperately.

As if something behind that wall was trying to get out...

Or trying to get in.

At first, we laughed.

"She's jealous of the baby," my husband said.

I wanted to believe him.

But Daisy had loved our daughter from the day we brought her home. She slept beside the crib every night, gently resting her head near the baby's tiny hand.

Then everything changed.

Our little girl developed a strange cough.

Doctors called it infant asthma.

Medication didn't help.

The coughing became worse every night, always around the same time Daisy started scratching that exact section of the wall.

Soon our daughter stopped smiling.

She barely ate.

Dark circles formed beneath her tiny eyes.

Some nights she would suddenly stop breathing for several terrifying seconds before gasping for air again.

I lived in constant fear.

Meanwhile Daisy became obsessed.

She ignored food.

Ignored walks.

Ignored everyone.

She only wanted one thing—

That wall.

When I locked the nursery door, she clawed at it until her paws bled.

When I blocked the hallway with furniture, she squeezed through anyway.

When I carried her downstairs, she escaped and sprinted back upstairs before I could stop her.

Always.

To the same spot.

Neighbors started asking about the scratching noises.

Friends joked that maybe mice had gotten inside the walls.

An exterminator came.

He searched the attic, crawl space, basement...

Nothing.

"No rodents."

"No raccoons."

"No termites."

Nothing.

Still...

Every night Daisy scratched harder.

Until blood stained the white drywall.

Finally, after nearly three weeks of no sleep, I snapped.

I stormed into the nursery and screamed.

"Daisy! STOP!"

She froze.

For the first time...

She looked at me.

Not with guilt.

Not with fear.

With panic.

Then she turned...

And slammed both paws into the wall one final time.

CRACK.

A large section of drywall collapsed inward.

Dust filled the room.

I grabbed Daisy by the collar, furious over the destruction.

But then...

A freezing draft rushed from inside the wall.

The smell hit me instantly.

It wasn't mold.

It wasn't dead animals.

It smelled...

Chemical.

Rotten.

Metallic.

Heart pounding, I grabbed my phone flashlight and slowly looked into the opening.

At first...

I saw silver.

Then wires.

Then something blinking...

A tiny green light.

And beside it...

Several black tubes running directly toward my baby's crib.

My blood turned to ice.

What had someone hidden inside our wall...?

May you like

And why did it lead directly to my daughter?
