Chapter 19 - The Bennett-Kane DynastyThree months later, the snow had begun to fall softly over Chicago, dusting the glass skyscrapers and frozen streets with a pristine white blanket.

Inside the grand penthouse suite overlooking Lake Michigan, the air was warm and filled with the soft hum of jazz music and the sound of baby laughter. Eli was running unsteadily across the Persian rug, chasing a rubber ball while Mason pretended to be dramatically tackled by the toddler.

I sat at my new desk—a massive, polished mahogany table covered not with criminal ledgers or shell company files, but with the legal charters of the Bennett-Kane Foundation, a global philanthropic organization dedicated to rescuing and rebuilding families torn apart by corporate corruption and syndicate violence.

The door opened silently, and Gabriel walked in. He wore a crisp black tailored suit, his dark hair dusted lightly with melting snowflakes. He walked straight over to my desk, leaning down to press a tender kiss to the top of my head before setting a steaming cup of coffee beside my laptop.

"You've been staring at those foundation grants for three hours," Gabriel murmured, his arms wrapping gently around my waist from behind.

"I'm just making sure the numbers balance," I smiled, leaning back against his chest and resting my hands over his. "Every dollar accounted for. Legally, transparently, and permanently."

Gabriel chuckled softly, resting his chin on my shoulder. "You know, when I first brought you into my corporate offices, I thought you were just a harmless accountant who would keep my books clean."

"And what do you think now?" I asked, turning my head to look up into his dark, devoted eyes.

Gabriel smiled—a warm, genuine expression that belonged only to me.

"I think you're the best thing that ever happened to my empire," Gabriel whispered, leaning in to press his lips softly against mine. "And I wouldn't let you go for all the money in the world."
