Chapter 6 - THE TRUST THAT COULD DESTROY THEM ALLThe document was hidden inside the photograph Emily had carried for years.

Grace had never noticed.

The back of the photograph contained a second layer.

Inside was a tiny encrypted memory card.

Noah stared at it.

“This could be worth billions.”

Grace shook her head.

“It's worth more than that.”

He looked at her.

“What's more important than billions?”

“Our daughter.”

Emily sat beside them.

She didn't understand the documents.

But she understood fear.

“Are we in trouble?”

Noah knelt.

“No.”

“Promise?”

He looked at Grace.

Then back at Emily.

“I promise.”

That night, Noah accessed the memory card.

Thousands of files appeared.

Financial records.

Emails.

Audio recordings.

Bank transfers.

And one video.

His father appeared on screen.

Older.

Exhausted.

“If you're watching this, Noah, I'm dead.”

Noah's jaw tightened.

“I need you to know something.”

His father looked directly into the camera.

“Your mother didn't abandon you.”

Noah's eyes filled.

“She disappeared to protect you.”

Then came the revelation.

“The person responsible for everything is not Evelyn.”

Grace leaned closer.

A name appeared.

Richard Parker.

Noah's uncle.

The man who had served as chairman of TechVision for twenty years.

Noah stared.

“Richard?”

His father continued.

“He has been using Evelyn as a front.”

The video ended.

Noah stood.

“We've been looking at the wrong person.”

Grace touched his arm.

“What happens now?”

Noah looked at the evidence.

“We expose him.”

But before they could move, every light in the house went out.

Emily screamed.

A window shattered.

Grace grabbed her daughter.

Noah moved toward them.

A voice came from the darkness.

“You should have stayed at Gate Twelve.”

Noah froze.

A gunshot exploded.

The bullet struck the wall inches from his head.

Then silence.

The attacker disappeared.

Noah looked at Grace.

“We're done hiding.”
