Chapter 9 - THE WOMAN NOAH CHOSE TWICESix months later, Noah sold his private jet.

He moved out of the mansion.

He stopped attending celebrity parties.

He began picking Emily up from school himself.

People noticed.

The billionaire who once traveled with ten assistants now stood outside a school holding a lunchbox decorated with unicorns.

Emily loved it.

Grace didn't trust him completely.

But she saw him trying.

One evening, they sat together on the balcony.

“You know,” Grace said, “I hated you for a long time.”

“I know.”

“I wanted you to suffer.”

“I did.”

She looked at him.

“Did you?”

Noah smiled sadly.

“Every time I saw an airport.”

Grace looked away.

Then Noah reached into his pocket.

He pulled out the old photograph.

The same photograph Emily had carried.

“I want to fix something.”

Grace stared.

“What?”

He turned the photograph over.

On the back, beneath the hidden compartment, was a new sentence.

Seven years late. But I came back.

Grace's eyes filled.

“Noah…”

He didn't kneel.

He didn't make a grand billionaire proposal.

He simply said:

“I don't want to buy you a house.”

She laughed softly.

“I already have one.”

“I don't want to buy your forgiveness.”

Her smile disappeared.

“I want to earn it.”

Grace stared at him.

“You can't change the past.”

“I know.”

“But you can stop running from it.”

“I know.”

She took his hand.

For the first time in seven years, she didn't pull away.

Then Emily appeared at the balcony door.

“Are you two dating?”

Grace laughed.

Noah looked horrified.

“Why would you ask that?”

“Because Dad keeps staring at Mom.”

Grace covered her face.

Noah laughed.

Emily grinned.

And for the first time, the Parker family felt less like a corporation.

And more like a family.

But the story wasn't finished.

Because three days later, Grace received a letter.

There was no return address.

Inside was a single photograph.

A photograph of Noah's father.

Alive.

Taken only two weeks earlier.

May you like

On the back were five words:

He knows where you live.
