CHAPTER 3 — “The Will Opened… And Victoria’s Crime Was Finally Exposed”

The lawyer placed the envelope on the marble table.

No one breathed.

Victoria suddenly shouted, “This is fake! That girl is a maid!”

But the old lawyer didn’t even look at her.

He broke the seal and began reading Henry Sterling’s final words.

“If my daughter Amelia is ever found, or if she has a child, everything I own shall return to my true bloodline.”

Emma’s hands trembled.

Ethan whispered, “No… this can’t be real.”

Then the lawyer pulled out one more document.

A hospital record.

A police report.

And a confession letter written twenty-three years ago.

The butler’s eyes filled with tears.

“Your mother didn’t leave this family, Emma.”

He turned slowly toward Victoria.

“She was framed.”

The ballroom erupted.

Victoria stepped back, her face drained of color.

The lawyer continued, “Henry Sterling discovered the truth before he died. Someone paid a doctor to declare Amelia unstable. Someone forged her signature. Someone sent her away with nothing.”

Emma looked at Victoria.

“Was it you?”

Victoria’s silence answered before her mouth could.

Then the mansion doors opened.

Two detectives walked in.

Victoria screamed, “You can’t arrest me! I built this family!”

One detective replied, “No, Mrs. Sterling. You stole it.”

As they handcuffed her, Ethan dropped to his knees in front of Emma.

“Emma… please. I didn’t know. I can make this right.”

Emma looked at the man who had watched her be humiliated.

Then she stepped past him.

“No, Ethan. You already showed me who you are.”

Three months later, Emma stood at the top of Sterling Tower, no longer wearing a maid uniform.

The company now belonged to her.

But when she opened her mother’s old diary, she found one final line:

“If my daughter ever comes home, tell her… Ethan is not Victoria’s son.”

Emma froze.

Because the biggest lie in the Sterling family…

Had only just begun.
