Chapter 2 - Exposed on Stage—The $50,000,000 Lie Stripped Bare!

The grand ballroom of the Anderson Foundation was a sea of gold, crystal, and whispering mouths. As Maya was escorted down the center aisle by Mr. Harrison and a security detail of six men in dark suits, her mother and sister scrambled behind her, desperate to salvage their dignity.

"This is a mistake! A legal loophole! We will contest this!" Victoria hissed under her breath, trying to keep up with Maya's steady, elegant stride. "You think you can just walk in here in your cheap off-brand dress and take what is ours?"

"Ours?" Maya stopped, turning her head slightly. The sheer confidence radiating from her made Victoria take a step back. "Grandfather built this. You and Mother have spent the last five years bleeding it dry for designer bags, European vacations, and press releases about your 'charity' work. You haven't contributed a single dollar of your own."

"Maya, darling, please," Helen whispered, her voice trembling as she realized the wealthiest donors in the country were watching them. She tried to reach out and grab Maya’s arm, her fingers twitching. "We are family. Let’s go into the private lounge. We can discuss this like civilized women. Think of the family name! Think of the scandal!"

"You didn't care about the family name when you tried to have me thrown out by the registration staff five minutes ago, Mother," Maya said coldly.

With a sweep of her navy blue skirt, Maya ascended the stairs to the main stage. The microphone stood waiting. Below her, the crowd parted, their faces a mix of shock, awe, and desperate curiosity. These were people who smelled power, and they could smell that the wind had completely shifted.

Maya stepped up to the microphone.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Maya's voice echoed through the high-ceilinged ballroom, commanding instant, absolute silence. "Welcome to the Annual Winter Benefit. For years, this foundation has operated under the guise of selfless philanthropy. Tonight, however, we are establishing a new era of transparency."

She signaled to the tech booth at the back of the room. "If you look at the main projection screens, you will see the actual financial allocations of the Anderson Foundation over the past fiscal year."

A massive spreadsheet flashed onto the screens.

The crowd gasped.

Instead of funds going to children's hospitals and low-income education as advertised, the screen showed massive, multi-million-dollar transfers directly to personal offshore accounts under the names of Helen and Victoria Anderson.

"Fifty million dollars," Maya announced calmly, her eyes locked onto her mother's pale face. "Fifty million dollars meant for underprivileged communities, used instead to fund penthouse renovations in Paris and yacht rentals in Monaco. Tonight, I am officially suspending all payouts to these accounts. Effective immediately, the board of directors is dissolved, and a full forensic audit has begun."

The room erupted into chaotic murmurs. Helen looked as if she might faint, while Victoria screamed at the stage, "You're lying! This is a fabrication! You're just a jealous, bitter child trying to ruin us!"

"Security," Maya said into the microphone, her voice carrying a chilling authority. "Please escort the former board members, Helen and Victoria Anderson, off the premises. They are no longer welcome in any Anderson establishment."
