CHAPTER 7: The DNA Test That Was Never Meant to Be Seen

The underground station fell silent.
Lily stared at the DNA report in disbelief.
Her hands shook so violently that the paper slipped onto the tracks.
"No..."
"This has to be fake."
Michael Carter stepped in front of her.
"Don't listen to him."
"I was there the night you were born."
Edward Blackwell smiled calmly.
"Were you?"
He pressed a button on a small remote.
A giant screen hidden inside the station lit up.
Hospital surveillance footage from twelve years earlier appeared.
Emily Carter was rushed into the delivery room.
Moments later, the power suddenly failed.
The video cut to black.
When the cameras came back online...
There were two newborn baby girls.
Not one.
Every person in the station froze.
Edward folded his hands behind his back.
"Project Phoenix wasn't created to steal money."
"It was created to create the perfect heir."
He slowly pointed toward Lily.
"You were never supposed to know."
Michael clenched his fists.
"You switched the babies."
Edward nodded without a hint of regret.
"Emily gave birth to twin daughters."
"One child disappeared with Michael."
"The other stayed with me."
Lily's world collapsed.
"I... have a sister?"
Edward smiled.
"Not just a sister."
"A twin."
"And for the last twelve years..."
"...she has been working for me."
Suddenly, footsteps echoed through the tunnel.
A young woman wearing a black tactical uniform walked into the light.
She looked exactly like Lily.
Same eyes.
Same face.
Same voice.
The only difference was the cold expression on her face.
She slowly removed her helmet.
"My name is Eva."
"I've waited twelve years to meet you."
Lily whispered,
"You're... my sister."
Eva gave a faint smile.
"No."
"I'm the daughter our mother raised."
"You're the daughter they turned into a weapon."
Before anyone could react—
Eva drew her pistol...
...and aimed it directly at Edward Blackwell.
BANG!
The shot echoed through the tunnel.
Edward staggered backward, blood spreading across his white shirt.
But instead of falling...
He laughed.
A second later, the "blood" began dripping onto the floor like red paint.
It wasn't blood at all.
It was another trick.
Edward slowly peeled away a lifelike silicone mask from his face.
Everyone gasped.
The old man standing before them wasn't Edward Blackwell.
It was someone much younger.
Someone none of them had ever seen before.
He smiled coldly.
"The real Edward Blackwell..."
"...has been dead for ten years."
The stranger looked at Lily and Eva.
"And now, daughters..."
May you like
"It's finally time to meet the man who has been controlling your lives from the shadows."
