CHAPTER 1: "Get That Maid Out of My Wedding!"

The crystal chandeliers sparkled above hundreds of wealthy guests as the wedding of Ethan Caldwell and Victoria Langley unfolded like a fairy tale.

Every seat was filled with politicians, CEOs, celebrities, and socialites.

Everything was perfect.

Until an elderly hotel maid quietly stepped into the ballroom.

She wore a faded gray housekeeping uniform, her shoes were worn thin, and she nervously clutched a small gift wrapped in brown paper.

Heads immediately turned.

The whispers began.

"Who let the cleaning lady in?"

"Is she lost?"

"Security!"

Victoria's face twisted with disgust.

"This is MY wedding," she snapped. "How dare you embarrass me?"

The old woman lowered her eyes.

"I... I only wanted to congratulate the groom."

Victoria laughed so loudly the room fell silent.

"You?"

She grabbed the tiny package from the woman's trembling hands.

"What could a maid possibly give my husband?"

Without even opening it, Victoria tossed the gift onto the marble floor.

The box burst open.

Inside lay an old silver pocket watch... scratched by time but carefully polished.

Guests laughed.

"That's all?"

"She seriously thought THAT belonged here?"

Victoria pointed toward the exit.

"Someone remove her before she ruins the photos."

The maid quietly bent down to pick up the broken watch.

Tears welled in her eyes.

"I raised him with everything I had..."

But before she could finish, two security guards grabbed her arms.

The ballroom watched in silence.

No one defended her.

No one even asked who she really was.

Just as they dragged her toward the doors...

A deep voice echoed across the hall.

"LET HER GO."

Every guest froze.

The groom had spoken.

His face had turned completely pale.

He wasn't looking at his bride.

He was staring only at the frightened old maid.

His eyes filled with tears.

Then he whispered the words that changed everything.

"...Mom?"
