CHAPTER 3: "The Bride’s Family Tried to Destroy Him… But His Mother Had One Final Secret"

Victoria’s father, Richard Langley, slammed his hand on the table.

"You think you can humiliate my daughter and walk away?"

Ethan stood in the private lounge, still holding his mother’s hand.

"I didn’t humiliate her," he said coldly. "She exposed herself."

Richard smiled.

"By tomorrow morning, every hospital board in this city will know you abandoned your bride at the altar. Your career is finished."

Victoria wiped her fake tears and whispered, "You’ll come back. Men like you always come back when they realize who has power."

Ethan’s mother, Grace, stepped forward quietly.

For the first time all night, she looked Richard directly in the eye.

"Power?"

Everyone turned to her.

Richard laughed.

"What are you going to do, old woman? Mop my office?"

Grace reached into her old handbag and pulled out a sealed envelope.

"My husband used to work for your company," she said.

Richard’s smile disappeared.

Grace placed the envelope on the table.

"Before he died, he left me evidence."

Inside were bank records, hidden contracts, and photos linking Richard Langley to years of fraud, stolen charity funds, and illegal hospital deals.

Victoria’s face went pale.

Ethan stared at his mother.

"Mom… how long have you had this?"

Grace’s voice trembled.

"I kept it hidden because I was afraid. But tonight, they tried to bury you the same way they buried your father."

Richard lunged for the papers.

But the lounge doors opened.

Two federal investigators walked in.

One of them held up a badge.

"Richard Langley, you’re under arrest."

Victoria screamed.

Guests rushed back into the hallway as her father was handcuffed in front of everyone.

But the final shock came when Grace opened the last document.

It was not evidence.

It was a will.

Ethan read the name on the bottom and froze.

His biological father had not died poor.

He had owned thirty percent of Langley Medical Group.

And Richard had stolen it.

Grace looked at Ethan with tears in her eyes.

"Your father didn’t leave you nothing, son."

May you like

She held his hand tighter.

"He left you everything they tried to hide."
