Chapter 7 - REAPING THE WHIRLWIND"You can't evict me from my own home!" Victor roared, his face turning a deep, dangerous purple. "I built this empire! I spent thirty years taking what belonged to me! You think you can just walk in here with your cane and your billions and take it away from me?!"

"I'm not taking it," Arthur said calmly. "You gave it away the moment you threw a mother and her six-year-old child onto the wet street in the middle of a storm."
Marcus stepped forward and opened his briefcase, pulling out a thick set of legal documents signed by a federal judge.
"Victor Vance," Marcus declared in a booming, authoritative voice. "Under the terms of the Emergency Victims Restitution Act, all personal real estate assets, physical cash, vehicle titles, and offshore holdings registered to you are hereby seized and liquidated by the court. The total proceeds will be awarded directly to Sarah Bennett as compensation for twelve years of emotional distress, extortion, and illegal eviction."
Victor looked at the paper, then looked at Arthur, his eyes wide with sheer, unadulterated madness.
"You're giving her... EVERYTHING?!" Victor shrieked. "My penthouse?! My cars?! My entire fortune?! To a dirty, penniless CLEANING WOMAN?!"
"She is not a cleaning woman, Victor," Arthur said, his voice dropping to a low, terrible rumble that made the entire room seem to grow cold. "She is a mother who worked harder in twelve years than you have worked in your entire miserable, parasitic life. She paid for her home in sweat, blood, and tears. You tried to steal her future. So I am taking yours."

Outside the glass windows of the penthouse, the sirens began to wail. Three police cruisers and two tactical vans pulled up to the curb far below.
Victor sank to his knees on his expensive Persian rug, staring at the floor in complete, utter defeat. Everything he had builtâevery lie, every scam, every stolen dollarâhad vanished in less than twelve hours.
