Chapter 10 - The Ultimate BetrayalBefore Arthur could process the warning, a sharp beep echoed from the wall-mounted security panel by the main entrance.

Arthur’s gaze flicked to the monitor for a split second. The security feed showed the ground-floor lobby and the primary elevator banks. Dozens of heavily armed men in black tactical gear were swarming the security desk, subduing the night guards with chilling efficiency.
Corporate takeover by force.
— You locked down the building’s mainframe, — Arthur realized, his jaw tightening as the reality of the siege set in. — You didn't just come for a family reunion. You came to execute a hostile takeover at gunpoint.
— The board of directors signed over their proxy votes an hour ago, under some... very persuasive duress, — Julian said smoothly, walking toward the bar and pouring himself a glass of Arthur’s finest scotch. He took a slow sip. — By midnight, the emergency shareholder meeting will ratify me as the new CEO of Vance Corporation. All your assets, all your global holdings, every single cent will be transferred to an offshore holding company under my control.
— And what about me? — Arthur asked, his voice deathly quiet.
Julian turned around, his scarred face twisting into a mask of pure malice.
— Oh, brother... we’re going to recreate history. Remember that cliff in the mountains? It’s amazing what a second accident can do for a grieving family’s public image. Only this time, there won't be any miraculous escape.
Suddenly, the heavy oak double doors of the penthouse burst open. Three massive mercenaries in tactical vests rushed into the room, assault rifles raised, aiming directly at Arthur.
Arthur didn't panic. Instead, a cold, calculating glint flashed in his eyes.
— Disarm him, — Julian ordered, gesturing lazily with his glass.
The lead mercenary lunged forward, grabbing for Arthur’s wrist. But in a blur of motion, Arthur dropped low, swept the mercenary’s legs with brutal force, and fired a single shot into the floor panels to shatter the optic sensors above them.

Clack-clack-clack.
The penthouse lights instantly flickered and died, plunging the entire floor into pitch-black darkness.
