"You wiped the local hard drives, Julian," Eleanor said, looking at him with profound pity. "Margaret anticipated your betrayal the moment you hired your brother's shady fixers. Every digital input in this estate has mirrored directly to an off-site, immutable cloud vault since 2024."
Before Julian could bolt for the private elevator, the marshals moved in with military precision.
Heavy steel handcuffs snapped around Julian’s wrists with a sharp, metallic ring.
Celia screamed bloody murder as another marshal pinned her arms behind her back, locking the cuffs securely in place. Marcus didn't even try to run; he simply collapsed onto his knees, sobbing uncontrollably as the cold metal clamped onto his wrists.
"You can't do this to us!" Celia shrieked, kicking wildly as they dragged her toward the door. "We're your children! You can't let her do this!"
"You stopped being my children the moment you decided my life was worth less than my portfolio," I spoke softly into the intercom from my secure observation room.
Though they couldn't see me, my voice resonated through every speaker in the boardroom.
Julian stopped struggling, his eyes darting wildly toward the ceiling cameras.
