Chapter 3 - The DNA Revelation and the Shattered WillThe private library of the Reynolds estate smelled of old leather, burning cedar, and pure, unfiltered tension. The heavy mahogany doors were locked from the inside.

Inside sat Jonathan Reynolds behind his massive oak desk, breathing heavily through an oxygen cannula. Across from him sat Marcus, pale, sweating profusely, and shaking as if he had contracted malaria. Victoria was pacing the Persian rug like a caged panther, while my four children sat quietly on the leather sofa, examining the priceless antiques with clinical detachment.

I stood standing near the fireplace, arms folded, watching the empire crumble from the inside out.

"Arthur," Jonathan rasped, turning his fierce gaze to his chief attorney. "Explain to me how my only son—my only designated heir—managed to produce four legitimate heirs and hide them from me for eight years while he was busy playing corporate games with this... this parasite." He pointed his trembling finger at Victoria.

"Father, it's a lie!" Marcus finally found his voice, though it cracked pathetically. He pointed a shaking finger at me. "She’s running a grift! She took millions from my settlement fund years ago, and now she’s rented these kids from an agency to blackmail me out of the company stock before the wedding!"

I let out a sharp, cold laugh that made Marcus flinch. "Rented kids? Really, Marcus? Take a look at their birth certificates. Take a look at the DNA test Arthur had quietly run upstairs ten minutes ago while you were still hyperventilating."

Arthur Vance slowly stepped forward, his face completely devoid of its usual arrogant smugness. He placed a sealed manila folder squarely in front of Jonathan Reynolds.

"The results are in, Mr. Reynolds," Arthur said quietly, avoiding Marcus’s desperate gaze. "DNA profiling confirms a 99.999% paternal match between Marcus Reynolds and all four children: Noah, Ethan, Sophia, and Olivia. They are your flesh and blood. They are the true, senior-line heirs to the Reynolds Global Holdings empire."

Marcus collapsed into an armchair, his hands gripping his head. "No... no, she signed the NDA. She took the five million dollars..."

"I signed nothing of the sort," I interrupted, stepping forward into the light of the desk lamp. "Your lawyer forged my signature on a fraudulent severance agreement while I was unconscious in the hospital recovering from an emergency C-section, Marcus. And guess what? I kept every single bank record, every threatening voicemail, and every text message you sent me threatening to ruin my life if I ever came near your corporate tower."

Victoria shrieked, her voice reaching a hysterical pitch. "Marcus, you promised me everything! You said the board voted me co-owner! If these bastards take the inheritance, we are ruined!"

Jonathan Reynolds slammed his cane against the hardwood floor with a deafening crack. "SILENCE!"

The old man stood up, his chest heaving, his eyes burning with a lifetime of tyrannical authority. He looked down at Marcus with utter, unadulterated disgust.

"For thirty years, I thought you were a ruthless businessman, Marcus," Jonathan whispered, his voice shaking with icy rage. "Turns out, you’re just a coward. You traded your own blood for a socialite gold-digger and left my grandchildren to the wolves."

Jonathan turned his gaze toward me, softening just a fraction, though his eyes remained sharp as steel. "And you, Elena... you have the spine of a true Reynolds. More than this pathetic excuse of a son I raised."

Jonathan reached into his desk drawer, pulled out a thick document embossed with gold foil, and slammed it onto the desk.

"As of this exact second," Jonathan declared, his voice echoing off the walls, "my previous will leaving everything to Marcus is officially revoked. The entire Reynolds estate, every share, every property, and total control of the Board of Directors is transferred directly into a trust for these four children—with Elena as the sole legal trustee and CEO regent until they turn twenty-one."

Marcus screamed out like a wounded animal, lunging forward. "Father, you can't do that! You're robbing me! You're giving my life's work to a waitress!"

"Guard!" Jonathan yelled toward the door.

Two armed security guards burst into the room, instantly pinning Marcus against the wall before he could reach the desk.

"Throw him off my property," Jonathan ordered coldly. "And drag that woman out with him. My Christmas has finally begun."
