Chapter 8 - The New DynastyThe snowstorm outside had finally cleared, leaving the city of Denver bathed in a brilliant, blinding blanket of winter sunlight.

Down in the sprawling courtyard of the Reynolds estate, the private gardens were alive with the bright, joyful laughter of children. Noah and Ethan were building an impossibly tall snow fortress near the grand fountain, while Sophia and Olivia decorated the lower branches of a massive pine tree with handmade crystal ornaments.
I stood on the second-floor balcony of the grand mansion, wrapped in a plush cashmere shawl, watching them with a deep, unshakable peace in my heart.
The transition had been brutal. The corporate sharks had tried to test me; the board had tried to undermine me; the media had tried to tear me apart. But every single obstacle they threw my way had only forged me into something stronger, sharper, and more untouchable.
Arthur Vance was currently sitting in a maximum-security federal penitentiary awaiting trial, facing thirty years for financial fraud and conspiracy. "Mom," Olivia whispered. "Are you happy now?"
I knelt down, pulling her into a warm embrace, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her dark, silky hair. I looked past her at the other three children, who had all paused their snow battle to wave up at us with bright, beaming smiles.
"Yes, my love," I whispered, tears of pure triumph shimmering in my eyes as I looked out over the vast, glittering estate that was now ours by right, by blood, and by sheer, unyielding will. "We won. We are home."

And as the winter wind swept across the Colorado peaks, carrying our laughter into the crisp mountain air, I knew that no matter what storms came our way in the future, the Reynolds dynasty would never fall again.
Because the queen of this empire hadn't inherited her crown—she had fought through hell, survived the fire, and forged it with her own bare hands.
