Chapter 7 - Nine O’Clock ExecutionBy 8:45 AM, the atmosphere inside Julian’s home office felt like a war room.

Julian looked exhausted, dark circles under his eyes, his shirt collar unbuttoned as he stared blankly at a final rejection email from their primary bank lender.
“It’s over, Clara,” Julian said, his voice hollow, defeated. He slumped back into his leather desk chair, resting his head in his hands. “The bank denied our final extension request. At 9:00 AM, they’re filing the freeze order. My company, my equity, everything I’ve built over the last ten years... it’s all gone. And my mother wins.”
Clara stepped into the office, holding a fresh cup of coffee in one hand and a thick manila folder in the other. She walked over, set the coffee on his desk, and placed the folder directly on top of his laptop keyboard.
Julian looked up, confused. “What’s this?”
“It’s the obituary for Vance Global Holdings Trust,” Clara said calmly.
Before Julian could ask what she meant, the heavy oak front door downstairs chimed with the sound of someone ringing the doorbell—not gently, but with sharp, authoritative knocks.
Julian stood up, frowning. “Who could that be? I told everyone we aren’t accepting visitors.”
“Open it,” Clara urged with a small smile. “I think you’ll like our guests.”
Confused and deeply stressed, Julian walked out of the office, down the stairs, and unlocked the front door.
Standing on the porch wasn’t Eleanor.
It was Marcus, accompanied by two federal agents in dark suits bearing FBI credentials, flanked by local precinct officers.
Julian blinked, stepping back in shock. “Marcus? Federal agents? What is happening here? Did someone report a break-in?”
“No break-in, little bro,” Marcus said, stepping past him into the foyer with a stride of absolute confidence. He held up an official federal warrant. “We’re here to execute a search-and-seizure warrant on Vance Global Holdings Trust assets, and issue an immediate arrest warrant for financial fraud and embezzlement.”
Julian stared at his brother, utterly bewildered. “Arrest warrant? For whom?”
At that moment, a sleek black town car pulled up to the curb in front of the house. The rear door opened, and Eleanor Vance stepped out, wearing another immaculate designer suit, her posture rigid and triumphant. She walked up the paved walkway with the air of a queen arriving to claim her conquered territory.
She assumed Julian had called to surrender. She assumed her financial stranglehold had worked.
Eleanor pushed past the open front door, her eyes locking onto Julian with a look of cold, patronizing pity.
“Well, Julian,” Eleanor said smoothly, pulling off her leather gloves. “I take it you’ve finally realized that fighting your own family is futile. I received your desperate message. I’m willing to restructure the debt, provided you sign the custody agreement and let Clara receive the specialized care she clearly needs.”
Julian stood frozen in the hallway, staring at his mother in absolute disbelief.
Eleanor thought she had won. She thought she was holding all the cards.

Then, Marcus stepped forward from the shadows of the foyer, holding out a pair of gleaming steel handcuffs.
“You didn’t receive a surrender message from Julian, Mom,” Marcus said, his voice echoing clearly in the quiet hallway. “You received an invitation to your own perp walk.”
