Chapter 5 - The Mastermind UnveiledJudge Lawson slammed her gavel repeatedly until the room settled into a stunned, trembling silence.

"Mrs. Brooks... Mr. Brooks... do you have an explanation for this video?" Judge Lawson demanded, her eyes burning with icy indignation.

My father turned on my mother, his face turning purple with rage. "You swore to me Harrison was secure! You said she handled everything!"

"Shut up, Arthur!" Linda snapped, her composure completely shattering. She stood up, glaring at me with raw, unfiltered hatred. "So what, Sarah? You think you've won? You think a few lab results make you whole? You're nothing! You were born weak, and you'll die weak!"

"I am not weak, Mother," I said, stepping forward, my voice cool, steady, and razor-sharp. "And you forgot one tiny detail in your brilliant plan to steal my inheritance."

I pulled out the certified birth certificates from my grandmother's safe and handed them directly to the court clerk.

"Evidence C, Your Honor," Sterling proclaimed. "Official birth records proving Sarah Brooks is the firstborn twin, born sixteen minutes before Emily. Under the explicit terms of Evelyn Brooks' irrevocable trust, Sarah is the sole heir to the $2.5 million estate, the family home, and holds 51% voting power in Brooks Legal Holdings."

My father's mouth fell open. He looked at my mother like he was seeing a ghost.

"Linda..." Arthur stammered, his voice trembling. "Is... is this true? Is Sarah older?"

Linda didn't answer. Her silence was a deafening confession.

For twenty-six years, she had lied to her own husband to keep control of the money, manipulating him into treating me like a second-class citizen while lavishing everything on Emily.

"You lied to me too?!" Arthur roared at his wife, realizing his career, his law firm, and his entire life were crumbling around him in real-time. "You made me hate my own daughter for a lie?!"

"You fool!" Linda spat back at him. "You were too cowardly to make money on your own! I had to secure our family's future!"

"Enough!" Judge Lawson bellowed. "Bailiffs, detain Linda Brooks and Arthur Brooks immediately pending formal felony indictment charges for conspiracy, medical poisoning, and financial fraud!"

Police officers moved in from both sides of the courtroom, snapping handcuffs onto my mother and father.

As my mother was dragged away, screaming curses at me, Emily sat alone at the table, sobbing hysterically, clutching her belly.

I walked over to my twin sister.

"Get away from me, Sarah!" Emily wept, backing away in terror. "Please... don't hurt me! I was just doing what Mom told me to do!"

I leaned down close to her ear, just like she had done to me at the edge of the pool.

"The difference between you and me, Emily," I whispered softly, "is that I don't need a mother to tell me how to destroy my enemies. Enjoy your life in poverty."
