Chapter 6 - BLOOD AND RAIN

“You talk too much,” a voice echoed from the shadows above.

Viktor whipped his head around, but it was too late. Priya dropped down from an overhead catwalk, landing squarely on top of one of Viktor’s snipers stationed on the second-level gantry. With a swift, brutal twist, she disarmed the man and hurled him over the railing.

Down on the floor, chaos erupted.

Elliot didn’t even flinch as three syndicate thugs rushed him. He moved with terrifying, practiced efficiency—a man who had built a criminal empire through blood and iron. He ducked a wild punch, shattered a thug’s jaw with a devastating palm strike, and wrenched a shotgun from another’s grip, using it to blast the third man backward into a stack of empty crates.

Priya slid down the support cable, dropping directly behind Viktor just as he raised his gun to shoot Aarav.

With a fierce cry, Priya kicked the back of Viktor’s knee, sending him crashing to the concrete. She wrenched the pistol from his grip, pistol-whipping him across the face until he slumped into unconsciousness in a pool of blood and rainwater.

The warehouse fell deathly silent, save for the patter of rain leaking through the rusted roof.

Priya rushed to her brother, slicing the zip-ties binding his wrists with a small pocket knife. “Aarav! Are you okay?”

“I’m okay, Priya... I’m okay,” the boy gasped, pulling her into a tight hug.

Elliot walked over slowly, his boots splashing in the puddles. He looked down at the defeated syndicate leaders, then up at Priya, whose face was smeared with soot and rain, looking like an angel of vengeance.

“Impressive,” Elliot said, a slow, appreciative smile spreading across his lips. “Most people freeze when cornered. You bloom in the fire.”
