Under Marisol Vega’s precise questioning, Sabrina laid bare every detail of Grant’s financial manipulation, his emotional abuse, and the systematic neglect that culminated in Diego being left behind on that fateful September Sunday.
"I let him do it," Sabrina sobbed on the witness stand, her voice cracking as she stared blindly at the defense table where Grant sat in handcuffs and an orange jumpsuit. "I watched him pack the car, I watched him walk away from that door, and I said nothing because I was afraid of him."
"Fear is not an excuse for child endangerment, Mrs. Miller," Judge Sterling stated coldly from the bench, her pen scratching rhythmically across the final decree.

Sabrina was sentenced to three years of probation, mandatory psychological rehabilitation, and a permanent restraining order keeping her at least five hundred yards away from Diego and me.
As the bailiffs led Grant away, he didn't look at Sabrina. He looked straight at me, his face twisted in a mask of pure hatred. But I didn't flinch. I just turned my back and walked out of the courtroom.
