Chapter 6 - The Ultimate Eviction

"You have exactly two hours."The heavy wooden doors of the banquet hall opened. But it wasn't their wealthy relatives or high-society friends who walked in.

It was four burly men wearing moving company uniforms, accompanied by a stern-looking man in a sharp grey suit—Alejandro’s lawyer.

"What is going on?" Fernanda cried, finally speaking up, tears streaming down her face.

"This is Mr. Ramirez," Alejandro introduced the lawyer. "He is the legal representative of the property management firm. As of 8:00 p.m. tonight, the lease on the Coyoacán mansion has been terminated. The house is sold."

"Sold?!" Doña Carmen shrieked. "Where are we supposed to live?!"

"I have rented a small, two-bedroom apartment for you in a modest neighborhood on the outskirts of the city," Alejandro said, his voice completely devoid of emotion. "The rent is paid for exactly three months. After that, you are on your own."

"You can't do this to us!" Ximena screamed, throwing her wine glass against the wall. "We are your family! You owe us!"

"I owed you my youth, my peace, and my sanity," Alejandro said, stepping close to Ximena. "And I paid that debt in full. But the moment you laid your hands on my pregnant wife, the moment you forced her to work like a slave while threatening to steal our child... you ceased to be my family."

The lawyer stepped forward, handing Doña Carmen a set of keys and a legal agreement.

"Doña Carmen," the lawyer said calmly. "If you sign this agreement, Mr. Alejandro will agree not to press criminal charges for the forged signatures and bank fraud. In return, you will accept the apartment, hand over all credit cards and the keys to the luxury cars, and agree to a permanent restraining order. You will never contact Alejandro, Sofía, or their future child again."

Doña Carmen stared at the paper. Her hands, which had never worked a day in her life, shook violently. She looked at her daughters—three young women who knew nothing of the real world, who had never held a job, now crying and clutching each other in terror.

With a trembling hand, Doña Carmen grabbed the pen and signed her name.

"The moving men are already at the mansion," Alejandro said, taking the signed paper from his lawyer. "They are packing your clothes and personal items. You have exactly two hours to go there, collect your things, and vacate the property. If you are still there by midnight, the police will escort you out for trespassing."

Without another word, Alejandro turned to Sofía. He gently helped her stand, wrapping his arm securely around her waist.

As they walked toward the exit of the grand banquet hall, Doña Carmen screamed after him, her voice cracking with desperation.

"Alejandro! You can't leave us! We have nothing! We will starve!"

Alejandro stopped at the door. He didn't look back.

"Then I suggest you do what you forced my wife to do," Alejandro said coldly. "Get to work."

EPILOGUE: A New BeginningTwo months later.

The sound of crashing waves filled the air.

In a beautiful, sunlit beach house in Nayarit, far away from the toxic hustle and noise of Mexico City, Alejandro sat on the wooden deck. The heavy burden that had weighed down his shoulders for five years was entirely gone. He had resigned from his grueling job in Santa Fe, starting his own independent architectural consultancy that allowed him to work from home.

The glass doors slid open. Sofía walked out, carrying a beautiful, healthy baby boy in her arms. Her hands were fully healed, soft and smooth as she cradled their son.

Alejandro stood up, wrapping his arms around both of them, looking out at the endless horizon of the Pacific Ocean.

They had lost a family of parasites... but they had finally built a home of their own.
