CHAPTER 1 – The Man Everyone Wanted Dead

Blackstone Maximum Security Prison had only one king.

His name was Victor "The Reaper" Kane.

For nearly fifteen years, Victor had ruled the prison with absolute fear. Every gang inside answered to him. Guards avoided unnecessary confrontations, and inmates knew that crossing Victor meant disappearing before sunrise.

There was one rule inside Blackstone.

Never challenge Victor.

Then one rainy afternoon, a prison transport bus rolled through the steel gates carrying a single new inmate.

His name was Ethan Cross.

Thirty-eight years old.

No gang tattoos.

No muscles that stood out.

No threatening stare.

He carried himself like an ordinary man.

The moment he stepped into the prison yard, whispers spread through every corner.

"Fresh meat."

"He won't survive tonight."

Victor watched from the upper balcony with a cruel smile.

"Bring him to me."

Minutes later, Ethan stood surrounded by nearly fifty gang members.

Victor slowly walked toward him, cracking his knuckles.

"So you're the new guy."

Ethan simply nodded.

"I heard you refused gang protection."

"I don't need it."

The yard instantly fell silent.

No one had ever spoken to Victor like that.

Victor laughed loudly.

"You've got courage."

Then his smile disappeared.

"Let's see how long it lasts."

Without warning, Victor punched Ethan directly in the face.

The entire prison erupted in cheers.

Everyone expected Ethan to collapse.

Instead...

He barely moved.

He calmly wiped the blood from his lip.

Then looked Victor directly in the eyes.

"You should've hit harder."

The cheering stopped.

Victor had never seen anyone remain that calm.

His gang members looked at each other nervously.

For the first time in years...

Someone wasn't afraid of him.

Victor grinned.

"Tomorrow."

"In the old warehouse."

"Just you and me."

"No guards."

"No rules."

"If you survive..."

"You earn my respect."

"If you don't..."

"No one will ever find your body."

As Ethan walked away, an elderly inmate whispered to another prisoner.

"He has no idea who that man really is..."

The next morning, the entire prison gathered around the abandoned warehouse.

Nobody wanted to miss the execution.

May you like

But they were about to witness something no prison had ever seen.
