Chapter 10 - THE NEW DAWNSix months later.

The autumn leaves of Madison Park crunched softly beneath the rubber wheels of a red stroller as Arthur pushed little Leo along the winding stone paths. The morning air was crisp, carrying the scent of pine and roasted chestnuts from a nearby cart.

"Grandpa, can we get double scoop mint chocolate chip today?" Leo asked, looking up with wide, hopeful eyes.

"Only if you promise to finish your broccoli at dinner tonight," Arthur smiled, adjusting his jacket against the chill.

"Deal!" Leo shouted, running ahead toward their favorite wooden bench.

Arthur paused for a moment, watching his grandson chase a stray squirrel across the grass. Life had returned to a semblance of peace, though the scars remained. Claire was currently serving her sentence at a minimum-security federal facility upstate, where she worked in the prison library and wrote long, handwritten letters every week asking for her father's forgiveness—letters Arthur read, and slowly, very slowly, began to answer.

The money was gone, the empire of lies had crumbled into dust, and the brass urn on Arthur's mantle finally held truth instead of deceit.

"Coming, buddy!" Arthur called out, stepping briskly across the park path as the autumn sun broke through the clouds, bathing the world in a warm, unshakeable golden light.
