Chapter 8 - THE CIRCLE OF SURVIVORSElena sat on the newly upholstered living room sofa, holding a warm cup of tea between her trembling hands as Clarissa sat across from her.

Dustin walked into the living room, curious, but Clarissa gave him a reassuring nod. “Go on outside for a few minutes, sweetie. I’ll be right out.”
Once Dustin was out of earshot, Elena looked around the room, wiping her eyes with a tissue.
“Parker told me for years that if I ever left him, no one would believe my name, my business, or my sanity,” Elena said, her voice shaking. “He made me believe I was crazy. He isolated me from my family, exactly like he did to you.”
“You aren't crazy, Elena,” Clarissa said firmly, reaching across the table to squeeze her hand. “And you aren't alone anymore. Parker is locked away for thirty-five years. He will never hurt another woman, and he will never steal another life.”
Elena let out a long, shuddering sob—the sound of a decades-old burden finally lifting from her soul.
“When I saw how you protected your son… how you used that recording to expose his entire empire of lies… it gave me the courage to finally come forward,” Elena said, looking up with fierce gratitude. “I want to help you. The prosecution is looking for additional asset trails regarding Parker’s shell companies overseas. I have documents from my marriage to him that can lock down the rest of his hidden accounts.”
Clarissa smiled—a warm, radiant smile born of ultimate victory and shared sisterhood.

“We don't just lock down his accounts, Elena,” Clarissa said, standing up and walking toward the desk to grab a folder. “We build a foundation. A sanctuary for every single mother and child Parker and monsters like him tried to break.”
Elena stood up, wiping her tears, her spine straightening as a powerful, renewed strength filled her eyes. “Count me in.”
