Ethan covered the doorway, firing precise, suppressive shots down the corridor as elite Janus operatives swarmed toward our position from the opposite end of the hall. Bullets sparked off the steel doorframes, chipping concrete and shattering glass in a hail of chaotic violence.
“Get the samples!” Ethan roared over the gunfire, single-handedly holding back a wave of three armed guards with terrifying accuracy.
I rushed toward the cryogenic core. The metal case was frosted over, locked behind a heavy digital keypad.

“Damn it!” I muttered, my fingers stiffening from the bitter cold. I remembered Dr. Reed’s notes from the tablet. The override sequence wasn't a standard password; it was a biological sequence based on Patient Zero’s initial trial file.

My fingers flew across the keypad, punching in the digits.

The heavy steel lock hissed open, sliding back to reveal rows of glowing, blue-lit vials filled with the precious antidote.
I grabbed the specialized thermal casing from my tactical pack, carefully slotting each vial into its insulated housing just as a bullet ricocheted off the console inches from my hand.
