Chapter 1 - THE CAGE LOCKSThe heavy hydraulic roar of the steel barriers slamming shut echoed through the opulent ballroom, drowning out the terrified shrieks of the elite. Panic rippled instantly through the crowd. Men in three-thousand-dollar Brioni suits scrambled backward, tripping over their own expensive shoes, while women clutching crystal flutes dropped their champagne as if the glass itself had turned to venom.

Nicolás Ferrer stood frozen, his mocking smirk trapped halfway across his face. For the first time in his twenty-eight years of absolute, unchallenged privilege, fear flickered in his dark, arrogant eyes. He looked at the massive, interlocking slabs of reinforced alloy sealing every single exit of the grand estate.
"Are you insane?!" Nicolás finally stammered, stepping back as Valeria advanced. The blood from her split lip had dried into a dark crimson streak against her porcelain skin, making her look less like a victim and more like a battlefield deity. "Do you have any idea who my father is? My family owns the entire security grid of this district! You’ve locked us in with armed men waiting outside—you've just trapped yourself!"
Valeria didn't blink. Her gaze was piercing, cold enough to freeze liquid nitrogen.
"You fool," Valeria whispered, her voice cutting cleanly through the escalating chaos of the ballroom. "You think my father owns a charity foundation just to give away money?"
Before Nicolás could formulate a reply, the crystal chandeliers above them flickered, died, and then plunged into a harsh, clinical blood-red emergency light. The ambient music cut out completely, replaced by a low, mechanical hum vibrating straight through the marble floor.
High above them, mounted inside the decorative plaster molding, heavy-duty smart-turrets whirred to life. Their laser-targeting sights painted a grid of crimson dots directly across the chests of the panicking politicians, corrupt judges, and billionaire tycoons.
"Lockdown Protocol Omega," a deep, synthesized voice boomed from the hidden estate speakers. "Identity verification complete. All exits secured. Autonomous containment engaged."
Nicolás lunged forward, grabbing Valeria by the collar of her dress, his knuckles white with rage and pure adrenaline. "Call them off! Open these doors right now, or I swear I'll—"

Valeria didn't even flinch. She slowly raised her hand, hooked her fingers around his wrist, and twisted with a sudden, bone-snapping torque that sent a sharp yelp tearing from Nicolás's throat. As he stumbled back, clutching his bruised wrist, Valeria straightened her posture.
"You wanted a charity auction, Nicolás?" Valeria said, her voice dripping with lethal elegance as she stepped over a shattered champagne glass. "Let's see how much your life is actually worth."
