Chapter 9 - THE SIEGE OF NORTH HILLThe assault came at 3:14 AM.

It didn't start with a bang; it started with a synchronized cut of the estate's main power grid, plunging the massive mansion into total darkness, save for the eerie green glow of emergency backup lights.
In the master suite, Molly sat on the edge of the plush king-sized bed, her heart pounding in her throat. True to his word, Dante had led her to the hidden panic room—a reinforced steel-and-concrete vault disguised behind a sliding bookcase, equipped with monitors showing every corner of the estate.
On the screens, she watched the nightmare unfold.
Sixteen black-clad operatives carrying suppressed submachine guns scaled the high stone walls of the courtyard like spiders. They moved with terrifying military precision, bypassing the perimeter sensors with high-end electronic scramblers.
They thought they had the element of surprise. They didn't know Dante was waiting for them in the central courtyard.
The heavy glass doors of the patio shattered inward as the lead infiltrator kicked them open.
Dante stepped out of the shadows of the grand foyer, clad in a tactical black turtleneck and dark trousers, dual Berettas held loosely in his hands. He didn't wait for them to raise their weapons.
The first shots echoed through the mansion like thunderclaps.
On the monitors, Molly watched in horrified fascination as Dante moved with lethal, terrifying grace. Every shot was deliberate, every motion calculated. Viktor and three of his top enforcers flanked him from the balconies above, pinning the Chicago mercenaries in a deadly crossfire.

It wasn't a battle; it was an execution.
Within four minutes, twelve of the infiltrators lay motionless on the marble floors of the foyer. The remaining four dropped their weapons and raised their hands in frantic surrender as Viktor pressed the barrel of a shotgun against the leader’s forehead.
