Chapter 8 - The DownfallThe two national police inspectors moved with lightning speed, charging up the mezzanine stairs before Dae-sung could reach the exit.

Min-seo shrieked as heavy steel handcuffs clicked onto her wrists, her designer gown tangling around her legs as she was forced down the stairs in absolute disgrace. Dae-sung thrashed against the officers, screaming curses at his older brother.
“Min-jae! You old fool!” Dae-sung roared as he was dragged past the horrified crowd. “You’re destroying the family! Without us, the syndicate falls apart!”
“You didn't protect the family, Dae-sung,” Chairman Kang said, his voice echoing off the crystal chandeliers with terrifying finality. “You stole from it. You used my son’s arrogance as a shield while you and your daughter looted our accounts.”
Joon-ho stared at his father and cousin in paralyzed bewilderment, slowly realizing how close he had come to taking the fall for their multibillion-dollar embezzlement scheme.
“Grandfather... what... what is happening?” Joon-ho stammered, looking pale.

“Silence, boy,” Chairman Kang snapped. “You’ll spend the next year learning how to work honestly in our logistics warehouses before you ever step foot in a boardroom again.”
The guests whispered frantically among themselves as the police cleared the ballroom, escorting the disgraced embezzlers out through the service doors into waiting federal vans.
