Chapter 7 - The Tables TurnCeleste realized the game was over. The sophisticated, untouchable society queen vanished, replaced by a cornered, desperate woman.

Her composure shattered entirely. She lunged forward, her nails clawing toward Grant’s face in a blind rage. "You arrogant bastard! You ruined everything! After all the years I wasted pretending to care about your pathetic mother and your miserable trucking company—!"

She didn't even get within a foot of him.

Two burly corporate security guards, stationed discreetly by the pillars, stepped forward with lightning speed. They gripped Celeste by her arms, immobilizing her instantly as she thrashed and screamed against their hold.

"Let me go! Get your hands off me, you animals!" Celeste shrieked, her expensive hairstyle coming undone, strands of blonde hair falling wildly across her face. She glared at Grant with pure, unadulterated venom. "You think you've won? Without my signature, your real estate holdings in New York are tied up in litigation for ten years! You'll lose millions!"

"Not quite, Miss Vance," a calm, smooth voice spoke from the doorway.

Marcus Bell walked into the ballroom, holding a freshly signed legal document bearing a bright red wax seal.

"Earlier this afternoon," Marcus announced, stepping up beside Grant, "New York State Supreme Court Judge Harrison signed an emergency annulment and asset-freezing injunction based on corporate fraud and fraudulent inducement to contract. Every joint account, every proxy right, and every claim you filed has been legally nullified as of 4:00 PM today."

Celeste stopped struggling. Her legs seemed to give out beneath her, and she would have collapsed onto the parquet floor if the guards hadn't held her upright.

"No..." she whispered, her voice hollow. "That's impossible..."

"In business, as in life, Ms. Vance," Grant said coldly, looking down at her with absolute indifference, "never underestimate someone willing to do the groundwork."

He signaled to the guards. "Take her out. Federal marshals are waiting at the service entrance to process the corporate espionage charges."

As Celeste was dragged backward out of the grand ballroom, her desperate screams echoing off the crystal chandeliers, the silence in the room returned—heavier, profound, and utterly transformed.
