Chapter 8 - Unraveling the SyndicateBy sunrise, federal marshals and local task force units had completely secured the estate. The remaining operatives sent by Rossi were loaded into armored transport vans, while forensic accountants swarmed the study to seize every digital server and paper file connected to Rossi’s domestic infiltration ring.

Evelyn Crane was taken away in handcuffs, her face pale and broken as she realized her loyalty to a ruthless cartel had bought her nothing but a prison cell.

She was acting as the financial conduit for an entire network of corporate espionage targeting your shipping routes.”
“My shipping routes are secure now,” I said coldly.

Sarah nodded, glancing toward the east wing windows before looking back at me. “Word on the street is you saved a maid and her little girl last night. Not exactly standard mafia protocol, Moretti.”
“People who work under my roof are my responsibility, Sarah,” I replied. “That’s the difference between a syndicate and a fortress.”
