Chapter 8 - THE BROADCASTWe didn't flee deeper into the woods. We drove straight down the backside of the mountain toward the local television station’s broadcast relay tower on Oak Ridge Hill.

It was a suicide mission if the station guards were compromised, but Emily knew the security protocols better than anyone. Her father had funded the station's emergency backup generators three years ago, which meant she had the master override codes embedded in her old corporate tablet.
We slipped past the perimeter fence while the guards were busy responding to the chaos at the hunting cabin.
Emily raced to the main control console, her fingers flying across the keyboard with astonishing speed. She bypassed the firewall, linked the encrypted hard drive directly to the emergency broadcast override, and set the data packet to stream simultaneously to every major news network, state police database, and social media feed in the country.

A progress bar appeared on the giant master monitor: UPLOADING... 10%... 45%... 80%... 100% COMPLETE.
The screen flashed a bold, un-deletable headline across every television set in Tennessee: EXPOSING THE HAYES SYNDICATE: THIRTY YEARS OF CORRUPTION, MONEY LAUNDERING, AND MUNICIPAL FRAUD.
