Chapter 9 - THE FAMILY REUNIONTwo weeks later, a private luxury van pulled through the security gates of the Greenwich estate.

Emily stood on the front steps, her hands clasped tightly together, her heart in her throat.
When the back doors opened, three children tumbled out—two tall, gangly boys in clean clothes and a bright-eyed little girl clutching a stuffed rabbit. They looked up at the massive mansion, then spotted Emily running down the stone steps toward them.
"Emily!" little Lily squealed, sprinting forward into her arms.

Johnny and Paul followed closely, burying their faces in their big sister's jacket as she wept tears of pure joy on the lawn.
I stood near the doorway, watching the scene unfold in the warm afternoon sunlight. The scars on Emily's shoulder would never fade, and the ghosts of the past would always linger. But as she laughed, surrounded by the family she had fought through fire to save, I knew we had finally won.
