Chapter 2: The Man They Tried to Bury

The street went silent.

Daniel Carter slowly stood up, his torn coat hanging from his thin shoulders.

The little boy stepped back, still holding the bread.

"Mr. Carter?" he whispered.

Daniel did not answer.

His eyes were locked on the leather folder.

The tallest man in the suit smiled, but it was not a kind smile.

"Five years hiding on the streets," he said softly. "And you still refuse to die."

Daniel's jaw tightened.

People began filming with their phones.

The man opened the folder and pulled out a contract.

"This company still belongs to you," he said. "But only if you sign one final paper."

Daniel laughed bitterly.

"You stole my business. You destroyed my name. You told the world I was a criminal."

The boy's eyes widened.

The suited man leaned closer.

"And who would believe a homeless man?"

Daniel looked down at the child.

Then at the bread in his hands.

For five years, he had believed he had nothing left.

No money.

No power.

No family.

But this boy had reminded him of one thing he still had.

His dignity.

Daniel took the bread gently from the boy.

Not to eat it.

He held it up in front of everyone.

"This child gave me more kindness in one minute than all of you gave me in five years."

The crowd grew louder.

Phones recorded every word.

The suited man's face changed.

"Stop talking," he snapped.

But Daniel stepped forward.

"You want my signature?"

He grabbed the paper...

And tore it in half.

Gasps exploded across the sidewalk.

The man's face turned red.

"You fool! That paper was your only chance to get everything back!"

Daniel smiled.

"No."

Then he pointed across the street.

A woman in a dark coat had just stepped out of another car.

She was holding a police badge.

And beside her...

Was Daniel's daughter.

Alive.

The daughter everyone had told him died five years ago.

Daniel's whole body froze.

She looked at him with tears in her eyes and said:

"Dad... we finally found the proof."

The suited men turned pale.

Because the little boy who had offered Daniel bread...

Was not just a kind stranger.

He was the son of the detective who had been investigating Daniel's enemies for years.

And the bread had hidden something inside.

A tiny recording device.

Every threat.

Every confession.

Every word...

Had just been captured.

Daniel looked at the boy in shock.

The child smiled through tears.

"My mom said you were innocent."

Police sirens screamed in the distance.

For the first time in five years...

Daniel Carter was no longer invisible.

He was the man the city had betrayed.

And now...

May you like

The whole city was watching his revenge begin.

To be continued...
