Chapter 9 - THE STANDOFFMarcus arrived at Sarah’s apartment, thinking he could buy her off or threaten her into testifying against Ethan. He walked in, holding a briefcase of cash.
"Leave him," Marcus sneered to Sarah. "And you can have a million dollars. He’s a dead man walking."
Sarah didn't look at the briefcase. She looked at Ethan, then at Marcus. "You think money is the only language people speak. But you’ve never known what it’s like to kneel on a market floor and promise your child that you’ll survive. You don't have the power to break us."
