Chapter 7 - A DESPERATE ESCAPEWhile Daniel was in custody, a 'legal team' from the foundation arrived at the hospital. They claimed to be Daniel's power of attorney, holding documents that Emily had allegedly signed before the 'accident.'

I stood in the doorway of her room, blocking them. "She is in my custody. Until the court appoints a guardian, no one sees her."

They threatened my job. They threatened my life. But I had the records of the zip-ties. I had the photographic evidence of the rot. I had the truth.
