A black SUV pulled up to the curb. Elena stepped out, taller now, running toward me.
"Sarah!" she squealed.
Behind her, Silas stood, leaning against the car, watching us with a small, rare smile.
I wasn't a maid anymore. I was a nurse, a graduate, and the unofficial protector of the most powerful family in New York.
