Chapter 6 - THE BETRAYAL UNVEILEDThe doctor came out, his face grave. "Silas, we found something. She was drugged. A slow-acting sedative. If she hadn't been found tonight, she would have never woken up."

Silas’s face went white. He turned to his lead security officer, a man named Marcus who had been with him for twenty years.
"Marcus," Silas said softly. "The supply chain for the drugs came from inside the compound. Who managed the medical wing?"
Marcus paused. "I did, sir."
The air went out of the room. I watched as the power dynamic shifted. Marcus didn't deny it. He smiled.
