Chapter 1 - THE ROAR THAT SHATTERED THE EMPIRE

The Million-Dollar Engine Screamed, But What It Revealed Left the Billionaire Dead Silent! The boy’s greasy finger pressed the ignition button.
For a fraction of a second, the garage held its breath. Marcus Hale’s hand was suspended in mid-air, inches away from grabbing the boy's collar. The mechanics braced themselves for the sound of grinding metal, a pathetic sputter, or worse—explosive silence.
Then, the world shattered.
It wasn't just a starting engine. It was a physical shockwave. The deep, metallic black supercar didn't just roar; it screamed with a ferocious, predatory hunger that shook the very foundation of the concrete floor. The twin-turbo V12 engine, dead for seven days, vibrated with such violent perfection that three pristine wine glasses on Marcus’s office desk upstairs shattered into glittering dust.
"Impossible..." whispered the lead mechanic, his knees buckling. "The ECU was fried. The firing order was entirely corrupted. It’s impossible!"
But the digital dashboard wasn't displaying standard diagnostics. The high-definition screens flushed a deep, blood-red color. Strings of glowing green cryptographic code began cascading down the main console at blinding speed. This wasn't standard factory software.
Marcus Hale froze, his face losing every ounce of color. His eyes weren't locked on the roaring engine; they were glued to the red screen, where a single digital emblem was forming. An emblem of a silver phoenix rising from ashes.
"Where did you get that sequence?" Marcus’s voice dropped to a terrifying, raspy whisper, all his previous anger instantly replaced by raw dread. "Who taught you that bypass?"
The boy didn't answer right away. He stood on the small metal stool, looking down at the billionaire. The engine continued to purr with terrifying synchronization, a mechanical masterpiece restored by a child.
Slowly, the boy reached into his torn pocket and pulled out a small, heavy object. He dropped it onto the polished carbon fiber intake manifold. It was a solid gold, custom-engraved 10mm wrench.
On its side, a name was deeply etched: ARTHUR VANCE.
Marcus gasped, taking a step back as if he had been struck. "Arthur... no. Arthur is dead. He died in the asylum five years ago."
The boy finally spoke. His voice wasn't that of a frightened child. It was cold, precise, and completely devoid of emotion.
"My father didn't die in an asylum, Mr. Hale," the boy said, his eyes locking onto Marcus’s soul. "You locked him there so you could steal his blueprints for the Chronos Engine. But he left one thing out of the blueprints."
The mechanics in the room looked at each other, murmuring in sudden terror. They were witnessing a dark corporate secret unraveling in real-time.
The boy leaned forward, his smirk widening into something sinister. "He left a Ghost Lock in the software. At exactly ten thousand miles, the car dies. And only a Vance knows how to wake it up."
Marcus’s chest heaved. He looked around at his employees, who were staring at him with newfound horror. "Shut up! Security! Get this street rat out of my sight! Delete the security footage! Now!"
But before the security guards could even take a step, the supercar’s digital dashboard flashed again. A digital countdown timer appeared on the screen, pulsing in sync with the roaring engine.
"What is that?" Marcus screamed, pointing a trembling finger at the dashboard. "What did you do to my car?!"

The boy hopped off the stool, his oversized shoes clacking against the floor. He stuffed his hands into his pockets.
"I didn't just fix it, Mr. Hale," the boy whispered, the hook sinking deep into the billionaire's throat. "I activated its self-destruct sequence. In ten minutes, the thermal core of this experimental engine will detonate, taking this entire garage, and every secret inside it, straight to hell. Unless, of course, you give me what I came for."
