Victoria Vale was handcuffed and led out through the front doors, screaming obscenities and hurling threats at Adrian and me until the police cruiser doors slammed shut, cutting off her voice.

Adrian watched her go, his jaw tight, before turning back to me. He exhaled a long, shaky breath, running a hand through his dark hair.

“Are you insane?” Adrian snapped, his voice a mix of profound relief and bubbling anger as he stepped toward me. “Driving out here alone? Meeting a desperate, unhinged woman in an abandoned building? Do you have any idea what could have happened to you?”

“I had to protect my mother’s legacy,” I said quietly, looking down at the worn wooden floorboards beneath my feet. “And I had to protect Lucia.”

Adrian stopped. His expression softened instantly. He closed the distance between us, gently taking my hands in his.

“You don't have to carry everything by yourself anymore, Elena,” he said softly, his voice losing its corporate edge. “You’re not alone. You have a family now. A real one.”

I looked up into his eyes, feeling the exhaustion of the past week finally catch up to me. The fear, the anger, the shock, the grief—it all washed away, leaving only a quiet, undeniable truth.

“My mother used to say that music tells the story our words are too afraid to speak,” I whispered.

Adrian smiled faintly, pulling me into a warm, protective embrace. “And your daughter’s dance told the story your mother kept hidden for thirty years. It brought us all home.”
