Chapter 10 - A New AcquisitionThree months later, the front page of the Wall Street Journal carried a headline that shocked the global financial markets:

MARROW HOLDINGS CEO ANNOUNCES INDEFINITE LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR FAMILY.

Wall Street panicked. Analysts predicted stock drops, hostile takeover bids, and corporate chaos. But inside our newly renovated Tribeca penthouse, the corporate world felt a million miles away.

There were no board meetings today. No hostile investors. No federal investigations.

Just the sound of tiny footsteps racing across hardwood floors, the distant splash of bathwater, and the rich, comforting scent of coffee brewing in the kitchen.

I smiled, setting my coffee mug down on the counter, and dropped down to my knees. I scooped Leo up into my arms, inhaling the sweet scent of baby shampoo, before walking down the hallway where Julian was already giggling in his pajamas while Elena read them a story.

As I walked into the nursery, Elena looked up from the rocking chair. Her green eyes shone with a quiet, hard-won peace that no billion-dollar acquisition could ever buy.

She smiled, patted the edge of the oversized armchair next to her, and whispered, "Welcome home, Tobias."

I sat down, pulling my wife and my sons close, realizing with absolute clarity that this was the only merger that would ever truly matter.
